GEM Partnership are delighted to be supporting one of the most recognisable financial institutions in the North East.

Our client a global leader within their field are looking to appoint an experienced Risk professional to oversee the day to day operations of a team of compliance and financial crime experts.

Key Responsibilities

Role Specific

To manage a small team of staff within the Risk & Oversight area of the Compliance and Financial Crime team;
To develop a programme to monitor the financial crime and compliance outsourced arrangements with programme managers.
To develop a meaningful risk process , enabling an effective risk management process.
Assess applications of clients and products to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
To evaluate changes to existing programmes and products and ensure risk based considerations are part of the sign off process.
To implement and oversee an oversight process which gives the company comfort that its clients are complying with regulatory and company policies and identify areas of responsibility which can be outsourced to clients;
To develop an ongoing KYC process to include an Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) element for existing Programme Managers and co-brands.
Respond to formal requests for information from regulatory bodies within specific deadlines;
Review legal and regulatory requirements and liaise with various external bodies and regulators (e.g. FCA, ICO and industry bodies).
The succesful candidate will possess;

Exceptional leadership skills.
Experience of the creation and implementation of risk policies and procedures.
An ability to develop and maintain processes to ensure the accurate collation of Management information.
A thorough understanding of FSA regulations including but not limited to (KYC and AML)
Strong reporting skills.
Experience of stakeholder management (both internal and external)
