Gem Partnership have been appointed by a Chemical Process business in Cleveland to identify and recruit an Area Operations Manager. The role holder will develop and lead the operations strategy for the plant and will coach and influence the organisation, to ensure the team work efficiently and effectively to sustain asset performance in line with business objectives.

Key accountabilities include;

• Deliver aspects of site EHS, production, cost and quality improvement plan to produce and coordinate the plan as a member of the leadership team.

• Develop and deliver a production strategy that optimises available resources in order to deliver the quantity and quality of output required by the S&OP team at minimum cost

• Contribute to site strategy, policy and vision as a member of the leadership team

• Provide leadership, set standards and direction in the development of a continuous improvement culture to deliver manufacturing excellence

• Coordinate with key stakeholders on and off site to ensure that all areas of the operation are
optimised for the benefit of the business as a whole

• Develop an effective communication and information sharing conduit for all individuals within the Operations organisation

• Represent the business in communications with external agencies and intra company contacts

• Work with budget stakeholders to develop and manage direct and indirect costs within area to deliver budget compliance within site improvement plan

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in chemical engineering or a manufacturing related engineering subject, together with membership of an appropriate professional institution and chartered status or working towards chartership.

The candidate will also have substantial experience in engineering/operational leadership roles, ideally including project management and production/technical specialist experience. knowledge of applicable technology is preferable here.
