Gem Partnership are delighted to be supporting one of our Chemical Process clients to identify and recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join the current plant engineering team.

We are looking for a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, together with plant experience.

The Mechanical Engineer will:

•Perform all duties in compliance with all the sites EHS, business conduct policies, guidelines and the local site rules. Comply with all site standard work requirements.
•Ensure adherence to the site engineering standards and promote a right first time approach
•Working alongside multi-discipline teams to provide day to day support to plant area team and engineering workshops. Provide support during planned maintenance events and outages to resolve emergent issues and technically specify emergent work
•Complete detailed specification of pressure system repairs for approval by the Responsible Mechanical Engineer nominee
•Work with the Assistant Engineer to develop solutions to mandatory codal actions
•Provide a technical engineering function to planned maintenance and service events
•Maintain and update the area mechanical life plan ensuring timely recommendation of CAPEX replacement and repair
•Champion the defect elimination and asset tactics processes to deliver improved equipment availability and reliability
•Implement innovative technical solutions through data analysis to eliminate repeat failures
•Deputise for the area Engineering Manager

Candidate requirements:
•Educated to degree level in relevant Engineering discipline.
•Industry experience of chemicals manufacturing and operational experience is essential, with experience working within a high hazard environment is desirable

The role will suit a self-starter, someone who can operate on minimal guidance and lead tasks to become a strong influence within the plant area, across all levels in the organisation.
