The Role:

Our client is a leading manufacturing organisation with a considerable plant footprint in the North East, they are currently looking to recruit a talented Shift Manager who would take responsibility for the operation on a continental shift pattern.

Responsibilities:

To ensure optimal performance from all production and support functions whilst maintaining HS&E, Quality and Delivery requirements. To manage all shop floor activities to achieve KPI targets including OEE, Scrap, OTIF, Cost per Piece, Throughput-time, Productivity, Zero Accidents, Absence reduction, NPI.

• Ensure that the shift complies with all Health & Safety Requirements including workplace organisation, working methods, risk assessments, equipment, environmental requirements and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
• Ensure continuity of operations across shifts to achieve optimal performance meeting customer demand within the constraints of the operational financial budget.
o Maximum efficiency by means of developed production strategies and effective team deployment.
o To monitor the shift performance, instigating corrections actions with the team where performance deviates from standards
o Effective use of shift production meetings
o To maintain an effective communication processes between shifts
• Ensure conformance to standards through the management and maintenance of SOPs, training documentation, ILU assessments, visual aids and performance measurement and reporting
• Support:
o Quality concern management
o Kaizen and Improvement activities
o New Product Introduction


The candidate:

We are looking for candidates with extensive leadership in a similar manufacturing environment. Evidence of self development to a minimum of NVQ level 3 would be required, ideally HNC or above. In addition, a demonstrable track record in using structured continuous improvement techniques would be highly desirable.
