The Role

An opportunity exists to join TMD Friction at our Hartlepool facility. The Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor will play an instrumental role leading local health & safety activities. Core responsibilities will include:

• Take a lead on all H, S & E related-activities driving a pro-active mindset across our Hartlepool facility and into the broader group.
• Responsible for the promotion and execution of all required health, safety and welfare policies that are either in place or implemented.
• Support and participate in H, S & E activities, including risk identification and management.
• Support in maintaining our ISO 14001 (environmental) and OHSAS 18001/45001 (health and safety), approved Business Management Systems.
• Provide support and advice to team members on H, S & E and management system issues.
• Develop and maintain procedures for H, S & E management, and supporting the planning and implementation process.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections of manufacturing processes and business departments and resolution tracking.
• Support in third party, site audits and inspections.
• Administration of computer and database systems, including maintenance of records and preparation of documents.
• Travel to other UK sites may be required from time to time depending on operational requirements.

The Person

With a strong pedigree in H, S & E you will have:

• Experience from a fast-paced highly varied manufacturing environment including, but not limited to, automotive, food or packaging.
• NEBOSH General Certificate
• Leadership skills
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Team working and coaching skills
