We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to join the Technology team at our Upper Tier Manufacturing Facility.

With a focus on delivery of medium to longer term improvements and development activities for the site, the successful candidate will provide key technical expertise, problem solving & solution implementation at a fundamental level.

The role is based on days and is a great opportunity for someone that has the tenacity to work in a plant environment and drive a mindset of continuous improvement.

The Process Engineer will target development and utilisation of deep technical understanding, focusing on the site’s product differentiation and end-use applications.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise and problem-solving capability to the site. Facilitate and own key production and quality technical issues, identifying and owning solutions and improvement opportunities
• Deliver technical solutions to EHS, capacity, availability, quality and variable cost issues that arise on the plant. Carry out high level option evaluation and provide recommendations for the optimal solution to be installed
• Technical expert for raw materials used onsite. Develop and provide technical knowledge and understanding of key aspects of materials used, having the ability to technically assess and own proposed changes or improvements in raw materials
• Work with Research & Development and technical teams to take long term development ideas and concepts to define potential improvement activities and projects for the site
• Key role in product quality on site. Develop strong understanding of key product quality concerns, drivers behind different product recipes with clear linkage to end-product application & customer requirements. Ability to utilize this knowledge in product quality investigations, and in ownership of improvements and new product development

Key candidate requirements:
• Educated to degree level in Chemical Engineering is essential, ideally working towards chartered engineer status
• Experience of working within a high hazard chemical industry environment is desirable.
• Proven ability to analyze complex technical issues to the fundamental level and propose practical solutions, as well as experience in driving continuous improvement and working within process industries.
• Strong communicator and influencer, skilled at mobilising and inspiring technical contributors with or without direct line management authority, at all levels in a manufacturing organization
• Well-developed IT skills (including Excel, PI / FIS, MiniTab) including the ability to create tools within the packages
