The Role:
BorgWarner are now looking to appoint an experienced Strategic Account Manager to join the PowerDriveSystems (PDS) UK Sales Team, reporting to the UK Senior Sales Manager. The role will be based at either the Binley facility near Coventry, or the Gateshead Technical Centre and will have commercial responsibility for a number of key automotive customer accounts, overseeing existing contracts and developing new business opportunities over time.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Commercial management of key customer accounts, managing performance metrics, implementation of pricing strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
• Ensure account activities are aligned with broader customer strategies that support long term business objectives for assigned accounts, representing BorgWarner in a highly professional manner.
• Lead on customer contract negotiations for assigned accounts to support business unit growth objectives, whilst ensuring compliance with internal commercial processes including contract review.
• Adherence to sales process, process improvement and account information management.
• Key point of contact for customers for all commercial issues and requirements.
• Play a central role in identifying new business opportunities with key customers, ensuring BorgWarner are well positioned to respond competitively to requests for quotation (RFQ).
• Work closely with the Program Manager to lead a cross-functional team of BorgWarner sub-departments including Quality, Logistics and Engineering to ensure collective delivery to pre-agreed program milestones.
• Interface with other BorgWarner global business units and functions where required.
• Represent BorgWarner at exhibitions, marketing events and industry trade fairs.

The Person:
We require an established Account or Sales Manager, with considerable experienced gained in the automotive supply chain developing relationships with OEM customers. You should hold a good degree in a relevant commercial or business subject, or an engineering related degree combined with recent relevant commercial management experience. This will be a customer facing role, so professional and commercial credibility is vital, aligned with strong account management flair, excellent negotiation, problem solving and communication skills.

Candidates will spend a considerable amount of time away from the office at customer sites, particularly in the Midlands as well as across the BorgWarner international network. As such a degree of flexibility on working arrangements will be facilitated including the preferred main office location being either Binley or Gateshead. Candidates should therefore be confident self-starters, with a strong personal drive and tenacity to excel.
