Job Description

Our client is a prominent manufacturing organisation based in the North East and a leader in their specific markets. They are now looking to add a talented engineer / officer to their regulatory and quality team, who will add value to health, safety and environmental activities, along with supplier quality assurance oversight.

The Role
• Support in embedding a Health & Safety and Environmental culture, based upon continuous evaluation, auditing and improvement.
• Undertake internal EH&S inspections and risk assessments.
• Undertake investigations of H&S Incidents/Accidents and environmental incidents.
• Ensure customer HSEQ requirements are fully understood and are met within given
• Produce and report on KPI's for the business.
• Undertake HSEQ Induction, toolbox talks and raise HSEQ awareness, as required.
• Supplier/Subcontractor quality management, including approval, flow-down of
requirements, monitoring and corrective action management.
• Use 8D, to progress non-conformances, identify root cause, corrective & preventive actions to closure.
• Undertake PFMEA to aid the prediction and prevention of quality defects.
• Generate and maintain contract quality plans and conduct supplier audits.
• Perform first article inspections, supplier acceptance, witnessing testing and product
release audits.
• Supervise incoming Quality Control, developing inspection techniques.

The Person
• Previous HS&E experience within a manufacturing environment is required, ideally with exposure to quality assurance activities also and knowledge of quality planning principles such as PPAP, FMEA etc.
• Recognised Health and Safety Certification (i.e. NEBOSH / IOSH) is required.
• Internal/Lead Auditor and ISO 14001 and/or ISO 9001 desirable.
• Proactive , able to work autonomously within tight timescales managing multi disciplined projects/tasks.
• Computer literate, with good communication skills both written and verbal.
