Children in need 2015
19-Nov-15
The team got into the good cause spirit on Friday 13th in support of Children in need.
The troops right across the branch network got involved in a range of activities to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.
Highlight of the day was the Great GEM Bake off, with some truly spectacular entries vying for pole position, a bottle of Champagne and all important bragging rights. Congratulations to Charlie from the Newcastle branch who took the Sweet prize and Rebecca from Peterlee who took the Savoury prize. A special mention also to Graeme from the Aycliffe branch who took the cheeky git prize for attempting to pass off a Taylor's the butcher mince pie into the competition as home-made....... tut tut.
The "know your colleagues" competition was a real hit also at £2 an entry; it raised a nice little pot toward the overall total for the day. Most of the team provided baby/toddler photos and a wide range of interesting personal facts. Well done to Beth Stanger from the Newcastle office who was victorious, despite some very dodgy holiday snaps, a baby photo from one of the directors that had most people struggling and a photo from our bake off winner Charlie that had to be seen to be believed!
All in all a fantastic day, well done all for raising a fantastic £400.50...
