A great start to 2023 for Apprentice Ethan Beadle!

We are delighted to announce that Ethan Beadle, a Level 2 Manufacturing apprentice has been nominated for the Made in the North East Apprentice of the Year Award and employee of the month at Gestamp, where he is on placement.

Through GEM Partnership, Ethan accessed a 2-week induction/classroom programme which included Gestamp specific modules, train the trainer to help develop his confidence and presentation skills and a Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing.

In October 2022, Ethan was placed at Gestamp to undertake on the job training of his apprenticeship. He has been trained on different cells across various manufacturing lines which has enabled him to work in any part of the Gestamp plant.  He has also become an effective member of the team and takes part in the Weekly Toolbox Talks and monthly meetings. Ethan has also contributed to the company’s progress towards issues such as climate change and recycling.

Ethan said: “Being nominated for both Employee of the Month at Gestamp and the Made in the North East Apprentice of the Year Award definitely came as a surprise to me, but I was happy that my efforts had been recognised by my peers and management.”

Charlie Partis, Shift Manager at Gestamp, commented “For an individual who is relatively new to the automotive world and the fast paced environment that it is, Ethan has learnt a number of new tasks, including some complex software in which he now uses on a daily basis, there is no denying he has exceeded our expectations. He is currently working on one of our fastest paced BMW lines and has adapted very well, which has not only been noticed by myself and his Assembly Shift Leaders, but also the team around him.

“Whilst conducting a recent performance study of the line and the team that works on it, Ethan came out as one of the best performers. Ethan deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved so far, and I have no doubt he has a bright future of ahead of him.”

Kelly Lee, Operations Manager at GEM Partnership added “I’m so pleased for Ethan, these nominations are well deserved and a great recognition of his hard work. On behalf of everyone at GEM Partnership, we wish him the best of luck!”

Based on his exceptional performance, both GEM Partnership and Gestamp chose to nominate Ethan for the Made in the North East Apprentice of the Year Award. The Made in the North East Awards is an annual award ceremony acknowledging outstanding work by employees and companies in the manufacturing industry.
