Programme Overview:

The Level 2 NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations is designed for those individuals working with a range of manufacturing industries and provides recognition of their skills. It will enable individuals to demonstrate competence in their job roles and to develop the essential work-based skills required to work effectively in the manufacturing industry.

Individuals need to demonstrate that they have suitable skills, knowledge and understanding to carry out the tasks associated with their job role, including –

  • Workplace observations
  • Workplace evidence i.e., SOP’s
  • Professional Discussion
  • Q&A
  • On the job / off the job training
  • 360-degree feedback to confirm competence in the role

Who is it for?

The qualification has been designed by industry for individuals involved in a manufacturing process whatever the sector. Learners may typically be responsible for the day-to-day running of equipment and for the quality of work. They are also capable of monitoring and controlling equipment and quality and can also exercise some judgement and decision making about the manufacturing process.

The Level 2 units have been designed to cover those learners who are either:

  • Individuals that need to acquire Performing Manufacturing Operations competencies for the engineering sectors.
  • Individuals employed in the Performing Manufacturing Operations engineering sectors but require additional competencies as part of an existing job role or to enable career progression.
