Husqvarna UK launches LMO Apprenticeship programme in their new Battery plant

Following successful delivery in other departments Husqvarna UK have launched an LMO apprenticeship programme in their new Battery plant

Speaking about the launch of the programme, Manufacturing Manager Dan Wilkinson says:

“The LMO qualification ran by GEM in other areas of the business have really proven successful, only recently the combination of Lean Manufacturing level 2 coupled with several Leadership courses provided by GEM have helped push the team and apply learning directly into everyday activities.

With the introduction and successful launch of battery manufacturing here at Husqvarna UK Newton Aycliffe we are now in a position to develop process and production even further. Husqvarna UK are strong believers and advocates of developing employees and encouraging both business and individual growth through training and upskilling. We see the LMO apprenticeship as a perfect way to support this in what can be regarded as a specialist facility, being specialised the LMO allows blended learning that is specific to the unique skills we require.”

Regarding his goals for the apprenticeships:

“Longer term the apprenticeship programme within battery manufacture will afford sustained production as well as allowing those participating the opportunity to be part of a global team working on cutting edge tech both in terms of product and process, this itself may lead onto to further opportunities within the business in the future.”

GEM Partnership provides apprenticeships across the manufacturing industry in the North of England supporting the upskill of workforce talent as part of succession planning, as well as the recruitment of apprentices.
