Job Description

GEM are supporting our client who are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Security Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The salary for the role is up to £46,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key responsibilities and duties will include:

Overall responsibility for compliance of the Company’s H&S.
Advise stakeholders on all aspects of Health & Safety.
Chair companies Health & Safety steering group.
Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace.
Conduct all risk assessments as required by legislation ensuring they are reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.
With Department Managers co-ordinate investigations into all accidents, including motor vehicle and near-miss incidents.
Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports.
Keep up to date with changes in current legislation.
Coordinate all contractor permits and health & safety procedures.
Manage Fire controls on site including fire alarms.
Manage intruder systems across all sites.
Appoint and manage security contractors, including out of hours.

As an ideal candidate, you should possess the following key skills:

Senior Manager reporting to Board level.
Previous experience in a similar role/environment is essential.
Health & Safety experience: Minimum 1 year
Previous multi-site experience is ideal.
Qualification in occupational health and safety is essential.
Experience of facilities management is highly desirable.
Knowledge of the logistics sector is highly desirable.
Must have valid driving licence.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday – 40hrs / week. Flexibility to alter hours when required to suit a 24-hour operation.
8 hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: salary of up to £46000 per annum depending on experience
