Job Description
Our client is one of the UKs largest home furniture manufacturers and has been established for over 100 years. Due to an expansion and increasing volumes we are currently recruiting for a number of Production Operatives.
Duties
• Ensuring all safe systems of work and standard operating procedures are always adhered to in Health & Safety, Production and Quality, as set out by the company
• Complete all related paperwork and input data accurately
• Assist the operator in carrying out maintenance and ensure the machines are kept in a good mechanical working order, reporting any issues to management
• Be able to operate the machine after training completed
• Ensure the housekeeping of the machine and working area, is maintained, in line with the company standard
• Working on a production line
• Packing flat pack furniture
• Stacking products
• Quality inspection
• Identify areas of improvements and work in a proactive manner
Required knowledge, skills or experience
• No qualifications required but previous experience in manufacturing / machine operator is essential
• Attention to detail and dexterous as the role includes hand packing
• Must be able to demonstrate:
– ability to operate the machine
– ability use of simple hand tools
• Positive “can do” attitude, and flexible to work on a variety of different sections within the department when required
• The ability to be thorough and pay attention to detail is key
• Working well with others in a small team is a regular part of the role
• Patience and the ability to work well during busy production periods
• The ability to accept direction and work without constant supervision
• Physical skills like movement, coordination and dexterity
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Good reading and writing skills are essential

Hours of work:
• Monday – Thursday OR Tues – Friday 6am – 6pm
• Monday – Thursday 6pm – 6am
• Sat – Monday 6am – 6pm
Rates of pay:
• £12.39 – Days
• £12.39 – Nights
• £12.33 – Weekends
