As a seasoned operator working for GEM partnership last year I went through quite possibly the hardest year of my life having a mental health break down, although I kept it quite for a long time when I did eventually open up, Rob and the team were nothing short of amazing, completely supportive, they saw past my struggles and had me feel a valued member of team, they continuously check in to make sure I’m ok and if I need any help.

During my time as a Gem employee I have enjoyed the many opportunities I have been given to progress within my job role. I have been on multiple courses and training through Gem Partnership and this has allowed me to gain further skills to better my career. I find Gem are a company that like to motivate people, Iv personally had discussions in the past where by I have been given good points and not so good points in that require some work, again this helps to point me in the right direction and I feel Gem are pushing me to succeed.
My time working through Gem I have not experienced anything negative and slight problems such as incorrect pay etc have been sorted fast and efficient. Communication regarding holidays etc have been good and holiday forms are usually accepted within 24 hours. Rob will make a huge effort to communicate or interact face to face and often shows his face around the shop floor.
I have noticed Gem are putting things into place such as the app to make ordering uniform, requesting holidays, E-learns etc easier and at the touch of a button this demonstrates they are keeping up with the times and trying to make things easier for people.

Can I just say what a fantastic guide and support Kayleigh has been for all our learners, especially Phil and John who had been through a rocky relationship with the apprenticeship when there previous trainer left. Through her tenacity, dedication, communication and influencing skills, Kayleigh has managed to rebuild that relationship, get them back into learning and got them successfully through their EPA. They are strong characters with their own strong ways of dealing with things, but she somehow managed to get them onside and ended up with an outcome a few of us at one point felt would never happen!

Having gained this qualification, I have been able to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge and get a full understanding of what a customer service practitioner entails. Doing this apprenticeship has also helped to boost my confidence both personally and professionally and I would strongly recommend anyone to do an apprenticeship if they can.

I had an amazing journey through my learning with GEM training. It gave me the opportunity to develop my skills but also the time to reflect on many things. I really appreciate all the hard work Kayleigh Johnson did for me as she is amazing in what she is doing and I always got her support in everything I was doing. Thanks to her and Luke I finished my course with a distinction and I very much appreciate that. I think more tutors should be like them as I don't imagine finishing this with anyone else.
